Resident Bush on Monday proposed a record $439.3 billion defense budget for 2007 aimed at fighting both unconventional terrorism and major conflicts with other nations if necessary. The major increase is significantly higher than current defense spending of $410.8 billion. At the same time the White House is seeking cuts in domestic spending. And it doesn't even include tens of billions of dollars in proposed new financing for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know about you, but I'm all for telling Junior to get a paper route or something to help pay for this -- I'm tired of bailing his butt outta trouble.
