Ironic that the United States Air Force, part of our military dedicated to protecting America, just outsourced a fat $40 billion contract to build air tankers to a partly-European partnership instead of their usual American vendor, Boeing. So now the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company -- the folks who make Airbus -- and Northrop Grumman will be slapping those planes together. Maybe the Air Force, which has no official motto (unlike the Army, which is "This We'll Defend") should think about adopting "To The Lowest Bidder".
